Senior Mobile Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Flutter Engineer to join our mobile engineering team and help evolve a large-scale Flutter application powering both sides of a U.S. marketplace platform. This role requires deep Flutter expertise, strong architectural judgment, and experience improving mature production codebases with real-world performance, reliability, and scalability challenges.

You will play a key role in shaping technical direction, enhancing mobile platform reliability, integrating native capabilities, and leveraging modern AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.

• Build and maintain features in a large-scale production Flutter application across iOS and Android.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues, including rendering bottlenecks, dropped frames, memory pressure, and excessive rebuilds.
• Develop native integrations using platform channels, plugins, and third-party SDKs with Swift and Kotlin.
• Improve real-time messaging capabilities, including reconnection handling, lifecycle management, and message reliability.
• Implement design-system components, animations, and reusable UI patterns with high visual fidelity.
• Write and maintain unit, widget, and integration tests while improving coverage and quality standards.
• Contribute to application observability, error monitoring, crash diagnostics, and production troubleshooting.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, code reviews, and mentoring activities.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to deliver accessible, responsive, and scalable mobile experiences.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, release management, and application deployment processes.

• 6+ years of professional mobile development experience, including 3+ years building production applications with Flutter.
• Advanced knowledge of Flutter and Dart internals, including rendering pipeline, widget lifecycle, threading, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.
• Strong experience with Flutter DevTools, profiling, debugging, and production performance investigations.
• Hands-on expertise with state management patterns such as BLoC/Cubit, Riverpod, and/or Provider.
• Solid understanding of Clean Architecture, MVVM, reactive programming, and scalable mobile application design.
• Proven experience modernizing legacy codebases and driving technical improvements without full rewrites.
• Experience implementing native integrations using Swift, Kotlin, platform channels, and third-party mobile SDKs.
• Strong knowledge of mobile application lifecycle, permissions, push notifications, background execution, and app store releases.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks, including flutter_test, bloc_test, Mocktail, or Mockito.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Bitrise, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or Codemagic.
• Strong experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services.
• Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with experience contributing to technical decisions and mentoring engineers.

• Experience with WebSockets, real-time communication platforms, or event-driven mobile architectures.
• Familiarity with LaunchDarkly, Firebase Remote Config, analytics, and experimentation platforms.
• Native iOS or Android development experience using Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose.
• Background working on marketplace, subscription, fintech, or consumer-facing mobile products.
• Mobile observability, crash triage, and production monitoring experience at scale.
• Accessibility implementation experience.
• Experience developing internal AI tooling, MCP integrations, agent workflows, or advanced AI-enabled engineering practices.
