Senior QA Automation Engineer (Selenium, Jmeter)

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in both functional automation and performance testing. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust Selenium-based automation frameworks, owning performance and load testing initiatives using JMeter, and helping drive quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify quality risks early, improve test coverage, and ensure reliable application releases.

This role also requires flexibility to support bi-weekly evening releases, as well as occasional ad hoc releases when needed.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Selenium WebDriver for functional and regression testing.
• Own performance and load testing initiatives using JMeter, including test plan design, load/stress/spike testing, execution, and results analysis.
• Integrate automated functional and performance tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, integration, API, performance, load, and scalability testing.
• Develop and maintain API test automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Karate.
• Analyze application performance metrics such as response time, throughput, error rates, and resource utilization to identify bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to investigate and resolve production and pre-production defects.
• Perform root-cause analysis and participate in defect triage and prioritization.
• Review and improve existing automation frameworks to increase maintainability, reliability, and reduce test flakiness.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and defect reports.
• Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers on automation best practices, test design, and scripting standards.
• Apply AI-assisted testing tools, including AI-based test generation, self-healing capabilities, and tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT, while validating AI-generated scripts and results.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and architects to incorporate testability and quality practices early in the development lifecycle.
• Track and communicate quality metrics such as test coverage, defect trends, and automation effectiveness.
• Support bi-weekly evening releases and occasional ad hoc releases when required.
• Stay current with emerging QA automation and performance testing technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.

• Experience with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress in addition to Selenium.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave.
• Experience with cloud-based load testing or browser/device testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest.
• Experience with additional performance testing tools such as Gatling, LoadRunner, or k6.
• Experience testing applications in cloud-native or containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• ISTQB Advanced or equivalent QA certification.
• Exposure to security testing tools and practices, such as OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite.
• Previous experience mentoring QA engineers or leading automation initiatives.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of shift-left testing and quality engineering practices.

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for functional and regression automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with JMeter for performance, load, and stress testing.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in test automation, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Solid understanding of functional, regression, integration, smoke, load, stress, and performance testing methodologies.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, or similar.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL for test data validation and backend verification.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, qTest, or similar.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools as part of a software testing or automation workflow.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and communicate quality risks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to support scheduled evening releases and occasional ad hoc releases.
